I decided to start a long-term passion project and share my journey. I'll be making a 2D loot based action RPG game!
I love ARPG games like Path of Exile or Diablo and my dream is to make one! In the first devlog, i wanna share my implementation of procedural dungeon style level generation and pathfinding.

Thanks for sharing. I'm curious why you decided to create your project as a 2D pixel art game using Godot and not a 3D game using Unreal Engine? You seem very experienced with UE judging from your past videos?
Hi! I'm creating type of game unreal is not really good for. Top-down isometric view is a very specific thing, and unreal was built with completely different games in mind. Unreal is also pretty bad for proc gen. Of course you can go and recompile unreal from sources and change it for your needs but at that point you can just make your own engine. On the other hand id love to make a 3D game but it's not feasible mostly due to sheer amount of assets ill need and the speed i can produce them. I'm confident i can make good 2D art (or get an artist make it) in reasonable time so that's what I'm going for. 2D will also simplify a lot of things and increase performance later on

Anyone trying to play this now, it isn't worth it. It's full of bugs and i'm pretty sure tons of features don't work anymore. I went through wave after wave without getting a single ability. Also if you press 5 you just die and 6 spawns an unescapable invisible menu.
